I would like to receive a step by step on what it takes to move to Canada from the US. It's just my wife and I and I'm 50 and she is 46. I'm currently employed as a QA Technologist in the food industry. I would like to stay in this industry but I also have experience in other manufacturing areas e.g. injection moulding.

  1. Shoredude is correct. Unless you can show you can live in Canada without any support, you might as well forget getting a VISA for work.

Unlike the US, Canada's immigration policy is very restrictive. At your age they will look at you as a liability to their social systems and decline a work visa. Same if you are 21 and a diabetic.

  2. Honestly, it will be extremely difficult to get permission from Canada to move there at your age.  They want to make sure that immigrants are not a drain on their social programs.

That said, visit Canadian Immigration Service's website for what is needed.
