  1. Your examiner will note the following:

      How you start your vehicle.

      Control of Vehicle

      Driving in traffic

      Merging

      Obey traffic signs

      Steering

      Stopping

      Backing

      Speed control

      Distance judging

      Courtesy

      Arm Signals

      Hill Parking

      Three Point Turn

  2. Read the book.  It is all in the free book the DMV/Registry gives out.

You may even be able to download a free copy as well.

    Good luck!

  3. Sorry, kiddo, every state in the nation requires anyone under the age of 18 to take drivers education of some sort, if they want a drivers license. However, if you wait until you are 18, all you have to do is walk in and take and pass the written and road test and you will have your license.

Check the link if you do not believe me. I'm only trying to help.

  4. Depending on the state, you may be required to take Drivers Ed. I know in CA you have to. Also here, there's I think 50+ different versions of the test. I doubt you will pass without any Drivers Ed/reading the book. Questions are mainly stuff like what does this sign mean (and gives a picture of it, one from my test was the divided road ahead sign), speed limits in certain areas, what to do in certain driving conditions (heavy fog, dust, rain, hydroplane, etc.), what to do in certain situations (cut-off, cars passing you in certain lanes), things about accidents (reporting to dmv, what to do), proper lane changing/turning methods, when to use different forms of lights, how to react to other drivers, what to do when stopped because a train or school bus, and what the price is for doing certain things wrong.

  5. it differs by state. the state i live in we don't need a test have our permits. as soon as we turn 15 and a half we can drive legally with somene over 25 but if we dont take drivers ed we can't get our license till we are 18

  6. nothing to be afraid of.. there is a few questions like .. what should you do at a stop sign... stop, or roll through... .... and what  certain signs mean..and other stuff like that,  its not hard although it might be different depending on the state you live in.. but ny's was really easy

  7. Know the shapes of the signs. Like, on mine, it showed a house shaped box thing, and I picked the wrong answer (PS: that one is WARNINGS) but all the other ones too, like squares, triangles....etc.

Also, know whose has right-of-way in your state. These are the questions like, "If two cars pull up to an intersection at the same time, who goes first?" (the answer is the person on the right)

So pretty much, stuff like that. Most of it is just logic. I didn't study or anything and I only missed 2 of the 25.

    Good luck!

  8. All the stuff that's in your states driving manual and that they teach in drivers ed. Here in Texas you can home school the drivers ed but you have to get the materials from the DMV and follow the curricula and fill out all the paperwork. Otherwise it's wait until your eighteenth birthday. I made all my kids take drivers ed and I really think everyone should. Parents aren't always perfect and there's no since picking up someone else's bad habits. The driving instructors teach you the proper way to do it.

  9. Just read a driver's manual. You need to memorize numbers too, even though it's mostly common sense.

  10. get the booklet your state DL examiner has with all of the "rules of the road" and laws for your state. Study them a lot and learn them. While we would like to help you there are no short cuts to learning the rules and being a safe driver.

  11. depends what state you live in. i kno CT's...it's absolute common sense you really don't need to study. the first question was something like what is an eight sided sign mean.
