Can anyone tell me what is the best way to learn to do a backflip without a mat or trampoline?

  1. Buy good medical insurance and have your partner by the phone every time you crack your skull or break your neck.  When you get tired of that get access to a mat or trampoline and some professional instruction.


  2. Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Join a gymnastics class, since you don't have a mat at home then gymnastics could really help especially since you'll have trained instructors teaching you.

    2. Get friend or family member to spot you, if you don't know what spotting means then look up backflip tutorials on youtube.

    3. If you can, you could try using a mattress, however i suggest you don't, because you can easily injure yourself if you miss the mattress when you try to flip or the mattress may be too thin.

    4. If you have a pool you could try doing backflips off the diving board, but if you don't jump out far enough you may injure yourself on the edge of the diving board.

  3. The best way to do this is make sure your partner is the same size or bigger than you so it's easier to spot you but that really doesnt matter.lol.

    then have them really spot you the first couple of times alot so you can get the feel of it. then eventually have him/her not spot you as mutch and keep getting spotted less and less so you get to actually doing the backflip.
