  1. Portion control, following recipes maybe

  2. Another useless device to clutter your kitchen drawers.   you can guesstimate the pasta amount you'll use anyway.

  3. To measure pasta.  What on earth did you think it could be for?

  4. there's a pasta measurer?

  5. It is use for portion control if you are taking care of your carbs.

However, I use it because, I do not like to make too much pasta than sauce and have pasta left over to throw away.

  6. Usually, they are tools that have one end with a hook, for picking up pasta to check for doneness, and another enf that has a series of holes for measuring out portion sizes of dry pasta. You really only need these if you are very particular about  inconsistencies, i.e. catering. Here's a picture: http://www.chefsplanet.com/products/view...

  7. You look at it and see how much spaghetti you need, then you take as much spaghetti as it will take to fit through the hole (sounds pretty stupid to me.)

  8. I have never even heard of such a thing as a pasta measurer, until now!
