Can anyone tell me what it's like in Galway Ireland?

What part of London would you compare it to and what type of people live there.

All of Ireland is gorgeous!  I have most of my family over there, one of my uncles lives in Galway, it's a lovely place, really nice, only thing to watch for is pick-pocketers in the town, the shopping places, but you get that everywhere!

Galway is great, and you can't compare it to London (not that London isn't great, it's just too different). Galway has this 'edge-of-the-world' feel to it, being perched on the Atlantic coast. With a university and an IT, it's got a buzzing student population, and it's also famous for its music scene, as there are trad sessions going on any night of the week and other types of concerts as well. Galway's a small city, very easy to get around on foot or by bicycle. Like any other Irish city, there are the Irish, the Irish from other parts of Ireland, and the foreign immigrants. Galway is the one city in Ireland where you are still very likely to the the Irish language used - not to be confused with Hiberno-English, Irish or Gaeilge is what was spoken in Ireland before English became the lingua franca. Galway's very popular with visitors to Ireland.

Galway is a great place, it has good shopping and a great nightlife. If you're looking for a good place to go at night, try "the living room", it's a great club

Well it's a city. It's where the Grainne and Sile Seoige (sort of) come from. They have a big racing festival every year where the bookies clean up.

It's also the headquarters of TG4, Rodge and meself drive down to the TG4 car park now and again to take snaps of all the TG4 weather babes. They're only gorgeous so they are....
