  1. Neighbours can be a real pain at times. Don't let things spiral as they sound as though they are about to. I would really recommend wax ear plugs if it is becoming more annoying. They really work and you will probably sleep better even when they have silenced the chimes. Most people if you approach them correctly will understand your feelings try a different approach they may have just forgotten to do it. Good luck.

  2. If they keep you up at night then you have these options.

If you have nice neighbours ask them politley explaining that they keep you awake. Good neighbours will remove them.

If you dont know your neighbours or they are ideots then just wait till dark and ppl are asleep, take them down and bin them. Note that they may buy a new chime which means doing it again though.

  3. on no account touch them it would really spiral out of control, chimes are supposed to ward off evil spirits so find the  local witch and get her/him to cast a bad spell on them, like boils ,headaches high tempratures anything to make them ill the way yoour getting it or if you know someone who does nightwork ask them to phone up at 3oclock in the morning for a week or two and leave the receiver off the hook or get bags of dogs poo and throw it in  their front garden or take up a floorboard in your house thats next to their bedroom hook up a speaker put it under the floor boards turn the sound down then when your waken turn it on so only they can here the bass yea

  4. Hmm,I'd suggest ear plugs. My little boy snores REALLY loud so I use them.

  5. They could be considered as disturbing the peace.  You might check with the police department, even though it would suck to have to resort to that.

  6. you could call the noise pollution section of your local environmental health department.

they will come out to your house and measure the level of the noise created, and if it is unacceptable, they will then contact your neighbour and ask him to remove the windchimes.

i would not recommend cutting them down yourself, as your neighbour would then be within his rights to contact the police and report criminal damage.

    good luck though.

  7. In the dead of night, creep into the garden and silence them forever.

  8. Cut them down.

  9. get even with them. play loud music that you enjoy and he doesnt during the day. if he asks you to stop, tell him you wont until he clips down a few chimes...maybe he'll get a taste of his medicine...

  10. Did you mention how your wife is suffering as a result.  He may have thought you did not like them but did not realize fully how they were affecting your sleep and your wife's health.  Let him know again and be more specific and ask if he can move them to the other side of the house.  Be nice but very firm. After that I would send him a written complaint in the mail to have as evidence that you have asked several times.  Then find out what legal action you can take.

Edit:  I read Mikki's answer and have to admit I use ear plugs because of neighbor's loud a/c outside my window (I live in an apt) They work great, are not expensive and you can get them in the pharmacy at walmart.  I tried the wax but found uncomfortable but the foam that are lavender purple in color are wonderful!

  11. Easy - cut them down in the dead of night and dispose of them (don't use your own bin or his).

If they buy some more go mega crazy and beat them down with a baseball bat - in full view of everybody.  Just act really mad and they won't want to upset you any more.

Madness works - people don't mess with the mad!

  12. absolutely remove them if he won't.how annoying he could at least do the decent thing and take them down at night.

  13. As you neighbour has refused to remove them you have two options within the law phone your local environmental health noise department and report the noise as a nuisances  and they can deal with your case or you could sue them for nuisance in a civil court

  14. either call the village an fill out a noise complant, or what i'd do is just cut them down and leave them in his mail box....the more mangled they are the better.  Maybe your neighbor will listen next time if he fears that your crazy.  worked for me

  15. Ask him and try to find out why he do not silence them, maybe he has some reason. Then asked him once more and let him know that your wife really suffering as she has asthma.
