  1. Hi Emily,

Actually that depends on a variety of factors (many involved in how you want you ad to display).  The best thing to do is to go through the process until right before the posting (you'll get a final tally on cost before you post...and then just cancel)

  2. If you mean by way of fees, it depends on what you ultimately want for your item. But even this isn't very much. They also charge a percentage for what it eventually sells for. Just don't forget the value of time. These might help to get a better idea:

  3. It depends ...

  4. I'm not sure- I don't like fees in order to sell something so I don't use ebay!  I use the free classified ads website http://www.stumblehere.com.  It's free and easy to use!

  5. First of all, your initial costs are in your product that you want to sell.

Then, ebay charges a fee to list the item.  I think the cheapest listing fee is 35 cents for items that are started under $9.99, then I think it jumps to 55 cents under $19.99.

Then, once you sell an item there is a small fee.  I do not know the exact percentage, but I will give you an example.  If you sold an item for $50., the final value fee would be approximately $2.25.  It is really very nominal.

Also, if you choose to accept Paypal, PP charges you a fee.  Again, I do not keep up with the exact percentages, but another example.  Let's say you accept $22.00 from a customer off an ebay sell, PP fee is 97 cents.

It does sound like a lot of fees, I know.  But that is reason to charge a little bit extra on your S&H to help cover those costs.  I am an ebay seller, and I realize there is no way to get around all the fees.  Plus, the way I think about it, is if I had a local store selling my same product, I would have a big fat thousands of dollars in leasing fees a month, and at least doing it all on my own with ebay makes it a lot cheaper.

    Good Luck!
