  1. My mother adopted me as an infant  in 1987, and there was no cost except for a couple of hundred bucks in mandatory parenting classes.

My fiance and I were looking into adoption/foster care (not for the immediate future but in a few years) and we were looking at kids around 2-4 years old and there was also no cost to us.

  2. LOL! and they tell me we're not a commodity!!!!

Yes, most agencies have price lists depending on the child's appeal factor - go check them out

    Blech

  3. Our sons adoption was about $50,000. This included counceling for us and the bio family. Parenting classes, attorney fees, Birth expenses and lots of little stuff. It's kinda like a wedding. Every adoption is different and has it's own fees. Just be careful of scams and agencies who make promises, it's a red flag that there unethical junk going on there.

  4. We figure that we've paid out @ $15,000 for each of the 3 children we've adopted.  Add to this the lost wages when I needed to take off work.

  5. We adopted our son in 2006.  We worked with a private agency here in Texas.  We paid around $35,000.00.

  6. I didn't know you could buy kids is that legal?

  7. i was adopted and my foster parents did not have to paaaay naything...only sign some papers!

  8. You wonder why adoptees feel like a commodity?  You wonder why natural parents feel like producers?  Questions like this  push that thought forward.

  9. Well, I'm a "Premium" Costco member, so it was cheaper for me, but I think it was about $570.
