It is the size and color of a penny. On one side is a large '1' flanked by the words "In Trade Pat. Jun. 1909 Ingle System". On the other side are the words "J.A. Cox", with another large 1 below that, and a 'c' in a little octagon which I assume means 'copyright'.

  1. Ingle system was a manufacturer of trade tokens in the early part of the 20th century.  These tokens (they are not officially coins) were made for many small businesses to help promote business and were accepted like cash.  I wasn't able to find a value on short notice, but there are publications that specialize in trade tokens.

here is what one  of them looks like, it sold recently on eBay.

A search on eBay turned up Ingle-made tokens that sold for as little as $4 and as much as $100.  As with any collectible item, condition and rarity are the two major factors in determining value.

If you don't want to take the time to research it, take some good pictures or scans and put it on eBay and see what happens.
