Question:

Can anyone tell me where I can get safety knee and elbow pads for children that do NOT have velcro straps?

I was hoping some company out there made pads that can be pulled onto the arm or leg. (Something similar to sweatbands that are worn on the arm.) The velcro straps always leaves marks and blisters on my child. I have tried several different styles and types of velcro but so far all of them are very painful to wear. Any suggestions would be helpful. My child loves to ride bikes!!

  1. you could try to buy basketball knee/elbow pads instead, they're made with spandex/cloth and have foam pads... they slip on over your hands/feet, and don't have velcro.

you can get them at your local sporting goods store, like d**k's sporting goods, olympia, or bob's. i think they're like $10-15

    hope this helps =)

  2. I have some that I bought about 10 years ago by a company called Bone Shield.  Have no idea if they are still in business or not, but I bought them where I purchased a pair of rollerblades if that helps.

  3. you could also cut up some old socks and use them as cushions between the pad and skin. i did this with a sock that had a hole in the toe area when i had to wear a wrist brace and it was rubbing.
