  1. First of all . .  you are doing a great thing in hope of re-homing ex battery hens They will truly thank you for giving them a second chance which is exactly what you are doing.. .  Otherwise They would be slaughterd after a whole year of being crammed in a tiny cageI hope to soon adopt some ex-batts but as of yet their are no coordinators in Ireland =(

here is a link to the bhwt (battery hen welfare trust)

and the link shows numbers and ways to contact coordinators in England =)

    http://www.bhwt.org.uk/rescue-coordinato...

and thank you again for caring about these precious birds =)

    You wont regret it =)

  2. I understand they become soup after about a year.

  3. Sorry i cant but nice to know some people care, god bless you.

  4. We can recommend the Battery Hen Welfare Trust on www.bhwt.org.uk

However if you are in the North east of Scotland then contact us - The North East Wildlife & Animal Rescue Centre - www.thenewarc.org

    A scottish Charity

We rescue all types of creatures and have just started re-homing ex commercial birds. Although not battery, they are free range. That is free range as in they have an area to go outside in which is about the same size as their indoor area. We have a thousand to re-home in the next 6 weeks.

    Good luck

  5. Was going to say - 'somewhere in Essex' but then saw your 'North East'.

Look on Jamie Oliver or 'Jimmy's Farm' website (if there is one) - there may be some clues.

Otherwise - there must be a British Poultry Association or something you could contact, who may be able to help.  Good luck.

  6. i'm not sure,

go on the internet and i'm sure u will find something
