president clinton was the only president to get us out of debt. He actually put us in a surplus of money supply, only until bush came into term.

Our govt has never been completely out of Debt. However, Bill Clinton did the best job, budget, economy and education.

The national debt has never been completely paid off.  Andrew Jackson came the closest paying it down to $33,733.05 in 1835
