  1. What type of coldwater fish?  If they are goldfish and you have a small tank the ammonia level is probably very high.

  2. Maybe the water is too warm still and the fishes are staying at the bottom to stay cool (since cold water sinks).

  3. Is your filter clean.Water clean with the right amount of water

treatment like Safe Water in.Don't clean anything under the

tap.You kill bacteria.Always use tank water to clean filter.Keep

the tank away from sunlight.Weather may be causing problem.

  4. that happened to me when i used to have 12 fish. i realised in the end that it was the temperature of the water! i used to put in water that was too warm. 7 of my fish died because of that and like the rest turned disabled-they used to swim on their side! i hope it helps!

  5. Check your ammonia and nitrite levels, both should be at 0 ppm.  If there's any of those 2 present, that would be why they're dying and laying on the bottom.

    What kind of fish?

    What size is the tank?

How long's the tank been set up?

  6. The water is too warm.Try floating ice in a bag to reduce the heat and monitor every day
