  1. Mine is about to do the same white tips and leaves are like little clutching hands. Contacted "japanesemaples.com" and they reckon it's wind burn, should be alright next year.

  3. Do you mean Acer, as in Sycamore family?

    Drought conditions can cause early leaf fall as the tree attempts to protect itself from water loss through the leaves.

    You don't say which Country you are in - is the water table low where you live?
