Can anyone tell my how to bypass the Internal amp in my 1998 dodge intrepid or where I can find a diagram.?

I want to put in a new stereo in my car but it won't work and someone told me It was because my car has a internal amp.

  1. Yeah, basically, you should be able to integrate with your factory amp no problem. Did you replace your radio because it wast giving power anymore? Because then your amp could have gone bad. Also, check your fuse box to see if there is an extra audio fuse that could be blown (could be for your amp).  And I'm sure you checked, but just to be sure, that you hooked up the blu or blu/wht wire in your aftermarket harness. This is your amp turn-on (remote) wire. If this is not hooked up properly, your factory amp will never turn on.

You don't want to bypass your factory amplifier unless you're also replacing the speakers.  If you're keeping the stock speakers, you should keep the stock amp to run them.  It's easy to integrate the new stereo with a factory amplifier in an Intrepid; you just have to make sure to connect the factory amp turn-on wire to the remote output on your new CD player.

    What problem are you having with the new CD player?
