Can anyone think of a good idea for VIP discount cards?

At work I have been asked to design a VIP discount card which entitles the card holder to a percentage off their purchase. I need to think of a way that we can make sure only the person who's name is on the card is using it. We can put signatures on them as they are laminated.... Can anyone think of a way we can make sure the correct people are using the cards?

The best way is to use a magnetic strip but remember that no matter if you have the strip or not if any one gets the card they can use it unless your people that process the card at the register ask for additional identification such as a drivers license
