My friend has been out on tour with Sesame Street Live for the last year and we are having a Sesame Street themed welcome home party for her, which will be brought to everyone by the letters C and A and the number 2. So Im trying to theme all the food, for instance I am going to have cheese dip and chips with little signs that say "C is for cheese" and "C is for Chips" and Im going to get a couple pizzas with a sign that says "2! 2 pizzas!" but Im pretty stumped as far as the A goes. The only thing Ive really been able to come up with is artichoke dip which Im not crazy about. And since its an adult party Im not really interested in cut up apples. And I would just change the letters, but the whole reason for the C and A is that my friend and I are the ones throwing it and our names start with C and A. So with all that explained...any ideas? And Im not a very good cook so nothing too complicated. Only helpful answers please. :)Thank you!

  2. Apple pie starts with an A

  3. 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese

1 14 oz. can artichoke hearts

    2/3 cup mayonnaise

    1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

    1 tablespoon pimiento peppers, chopped

2 tablespoons green onion, thinly sliced

    1 clove garlic, pressed

    1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes

    1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Grease a medium sized casserole dish or spray with olive oil spray.

Combine cheese, mayonnaise and whipping cream. Put garlic clove through a garlic process and stir in.

Drain and chop artichokes and stir in along with the pimientos, onions, red pepper flakes, olive oil and lemon juice.

Bake 25 minutes or until golden.

  4. aioli, it's a garlicky mayo dip.  It's really good.  I watched an episode of barefoot contessa where she served the dip with steamed fingerling potatoes, but you could use small red potatoes or red and white (for your two theme).  You could also do asparagus spears roasted with parmesan and salt and pepper, or just wrap them in proscuitto and roast.  And one from epicurious:

    Alsation Cheese Tart

1 puff pastry sheet (from a 17 1/4-oz package), thawed

    1/2 cup whole-milk cottage cheese

    1/4 cup sour cream

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    1/4 teaspoon black pepper

6 bacon slices (6 oz), cut crosswise into 1/2-inch pieces

1/3 cup packed thinly sliced onion

    1 tablespoon freshly grated parmesan

Put oven rack in middle position and preheat oven to 400°F.

Roll out pastry on a lightly floured surface with a lightly floured rolling pin into a 12-inch square, then transfer to a large baking sheet.

Blend cottage cheese, sour cream, salt, and pepper in a blender until smooth.

Cook bacon in a 10-inch skillet over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until it just begins to brown, about 5 minutes. (Bacon should be tender, not crisp.) Remove from heat.

Spread cheese mixture evenly over pastry, leaving a 1-inch border all around. Scatter bacon and onion on top, then sprinkle with parmesan. Bake until pastry is golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Cut into 36 pieces and serve warm.

  5. Antipasto - olives, stuffed peppers, pickled artichokes, salami etc

  6. artichoke dip

  7. A is for Appetizers,   Apple slices on cheese,  Achovies on crackers,  Artichoke Dip, Avocado-shrimp toasts, etc

  8. Apricot roll ups is simply dried apricots with an almond inside, wrapped up in bacon and cooked in the over .  Yum!
