  1. A spanish friend come along to me to camping with my family on wisconsin this year, we went to to several pools on Chicago, and He was surprise about how many fabric swimming suites have, and no one girl doing top less... On the opposite, when I visited Donosti, some girls and old ladies was top less...  So, at least topless is common.

  2. In Spain, as in any other european country, it's not legal to go around totally naked in beaches but no one really cares, that law is over looked. There are many nudist beaches but there are even more secluded normal beaches where it's normal to see people totally naked. It's a matter of common sense, really.

Topless on the other hand is perfectly legal anywhere and seen as something so normal most people don't even look (except if there is something extraordinary to look at...).

And Spain is not conservative at all, it was 30 years ago but certainly not today...

  3. John6834 is right, it is perfectly true, nudity is perfectly legal in Spain, not only on beaches, but also in public gardens, swimming pools etc.

Some beaches are nudists and some are not, but it doesn't mean that it is forbidden to be naked. The only reason is that naked people are going with naked people, and dressed people are going with dressed people. But if you want to be naked, you can, it is perfectly allowed, and often you can see naked people in non-nudist beaches.

It is also possible to be naked if you have a walk in the mountains, in the country.

  4. That is not true.  There are nude beaches where you can go naked.

  5. You can walk anywhere naked in Spain.

  6. Spain is still a fairly conservative country.  I can remember a time when taking off your top would get you arrested.  instantly.  I know that isn't true anymore, but just naked?  Anywhere?

    no.

  7. when i was in spain this past summer (northeast coast of spain), i went to beaches and saw women without tops who looked about 20-35 years old.

it is more common just to remove the top, but it is perfectly legal to remove more.  in fact the people i was with would sometimes get changed on the beach.
