My probation officer told me that my boyfriend cannot live with me or spend the night at my home. He is not on probation anymore but was at one point. I am going to be off paper in a couple months, but I still don't think that they can control who spends the night or lives with me, or who I date. I pay rent in my house not the probation officers. Can they do this to me?

  1. Yes, I'm pretty sure they can. Especially when you're both criminals or past criminals.

  2. Yes they can.

  3. They can if your conditions of probation state that you cannot be around a convict. Since he was on probation, he was convicted at one point. If you have questions, review your terms of probation and ask your officer to explain them if you don't understand. Sometimes they step over their boundaries because they are not questioned. Good luck!

  4. Oh yes they can.  They can even tell you how to dress if they want to.  Probation is like following the rules of being in jail without actually being in jail.

The other person was right, they own you until your probation is done.

  5. No they  cant if your bf is not on probation and more the probation officer does not have jurisdiction over him and remember its only illegal if you get caught plus the probation officer is not always there to. so have fun

  6. yes, they can.  a probations oficer has the right to limit your activities in anyway they feel they need to in order to help keep you from commiting another offense.

  7. Oh yes they can... they own you till you're off.

Probation is just basically prison with perks.... listen to your probate officer, do as you're told.
