  1. Generally, no. Most directors believe it's better that bikers / runners are more aware of what's going on around them. It's not allowed in triathlons for the same reasons, plus MP3 players aren't waterproof.


  2. No. Because according to IOC rules these machines are "enhancers". You are allowed to use them by and on the facility, but not while competing.

    While running Varsity Track in High School I couldn't even use my mp3 by or during a trackmeet.
