If an audit manager of an audit firm applies for the job in listed company of which he is currently engaged in audit, isn't it the voilation of any law? Besides ICAP's code of ethics.

He is joining company not as CFO but the person reporting to CFO. He is currently engaged in the audit and giving interviews during the audit and will join the company after the audit.

If it is the voilation of law, what could be consequences for audit manager, audit firm and the listed company.

please give me the specific references to any law or code

Regards

  1. I do not see any problem if you join the company after the audit is complete and you sign off on the audit.

A problem would occur if you worked for both companies at the same time or had some form of vested interest in the conpany while you were doing the audit - conflict if interest.
