the rule of thumb is when your baby can sit up by himself then you can start introducing table food or baby food just make sure you only try one new thing every couple of days so that you can spot and eliminate any allergies

oh yeah! my son is 10months old and he loves black eyed peas. It is perfectly fine.

Sure, just mush it up first.  Then have the Mylacon ready!

Beans are high in fiber and protein.  Don't go overboard if they like them b/c they could get gassy and gas hurts the little ones.  But everything in moderation.  It's a healthy food.
