Question:

Can babies ride in trucks today?

I have an infant, and I am THINKING about buying a used pick-up truck with no airbags (as my husband has a nice 4-door car). I'd only buy one of course if it is safe and OK for my baby to ride in it with me. Is it legal and safe for a baby to be in a car seat in the front seat of a pick-up truck?

  1. if you want the safest, it should be in the rear seat facing rear until the baby is big enough to face forward. with a single cab, that windshield will still be awfully close to the baby. if you have a choice, you should get a crew cab.

  2. No it would be very unsafe for the child and I would never recommend that you do this.

  3. It may be legal but it isn't real safe. And in order to get a truck without airbags you're going to have to go pretty old.
