Can bamboo survive in just water?

I'm keeping mine in a water bottle. I think they can, but I'm not sure.

I planted mine in soil years ago, our water is hard on plants. But yes they otherwise do great in water..

Normal Bamboo can survive in swamps, but not pure water. On the other hand Lucky Bamboo can live in water, with added nutrients. But Lucky Bamboo is not a real bamboo. It is in the Dracaena family. They are easily grown in water to answer you question.
