and you can keep them together if you get a tank divider

  2. it shouldn't be. yes, they put them in tiny bowls, but they should at least have a fish bowl.

and NEVER put another beta or fish with them unless if it's an alge eater or a bottom feeder. and especially never put another male with it. they will fight until one is badly injured, dead,or both of them injured or dead.  that's why some people refer to them as japanese fighting fish!! (: [i've had 3.] 2 males and 1 female. my first one lived for about 4 years. (=

  3. Males should not be placed together.  They will kill each other.

Females and males cannot mix unless you are breeding them, and only then for a short time.

Females do not even get along.  I had three in a tank from the same spawn.  They would chase each other frequently.  At one point, they must have sensed that one of the females was weak and they all attacked her.  They literally tore the flesh from her while she was still alive.  It was sickening.  I never put Bettas together again.

    (addition)

They don't mix well with other species either.  They are either the aggressor or the one being picked on because of their showy fins.  I had a male Betta chase a small neon and hold the poor thing in his mouth, ready to chew it up.  He spit it out and the poor guy got away (I removed my Betta, needless to say) but he later died, presumably from the stress!  I put them in tanks with fish such as mollies.  These fish nipped my Bettas fins relentlessly.  Any time I've put my Bettas with other fish in a large tank (planted, yes), they end up in a corner, stressing to death.

  4. Take them out if they are males. They will kill each other! Also, dont put them right beside each other where they can see each other. I've heard of betas killing themselves by running into the glass! They can be put in with other fish sometimes. HOpe I helped!

  5. It is actually spelled beta.....and it is not very advisable for them to be in the same tank because they fight .... thus the reason their name is also "Japanese fighting fish"

  6. not unless you want two dead beta fishes. they'll kill each other. if u really want to... get a tank that has a clear wall between the two cages. that way they can be togethor and not kill each other. but it it kinda funny when they run into walls though. lol.

  7. If u mean can 2 beta fishes be in the same tank then the answer is no because they are practically fighting fish but u could put a female and a male beta fish in the same tank..

  8. Fish shouldn't be in a cage because cages don't contain water.

  9. It is not a wise thing to do is to put tow male Bettas in the same tank; one will kill the other. You must keep them apart in separate tanks.

  10. No, they will attack and kill one another.

You can though put Beta fish in with other fish that it will get along with.  We had a Beta in a tank with Balloon Belly Mollies, Guppies, and Cory Cats and they were fine.  The Guppies kind of picked on the Beta but he never fought back.

  11. They shouldn't be, especially if they're both males. Bettas won't hesitate to kill each other if they are feeling aggressive towards the other fish in their tank.

  12. It is actually spelled Betta fish, commonly mispelled as Beta or Bata fish. And no they will fish and kill each other. 3+ females can be housed together in a well planted 10 gallon tank!
