Can be landlord still serve me with notice?

My landlord has breech tenancy by not maintaing the property I live in but I cant afford to move, they keep hinting they want me to move out so they can repair it. Surely there not allowed to do this!

No, by law he has to maintain your property though if you have to move out in order for the work to be done you would have to, but you would also be allowed to move back in again. Have a word with citizens advice

If you do not have a written fixed term lease, te landlord can give you proper written notice terminating your tenacy. Usually one rental month, but it varies by state.
