  1. Could be possible. We had a green iguana for 5 years and he learned how to interact with our dogs, 1 being a golden retriever. They'd take turned running up to each other like they were playing tag and he never swatted at them. He died from age and we got a chinese water dragon. Had him for almost 2 months now and he's already responding to his name when we call him. He'll be up in his tree and we'll open the door and say "Time to eat Omar" and he comes running down the tree to eat. I believe they can be trained to do alot but you have to put alot of time, love and patience into it with them.

  2. they ALWAYS sit..

  3. No, not really...

They may develop behaviour based on how you react to them in certain situations - but it won't be consistant, it is our imagination that will turn it into a "trick".

For example - my beardie hates baths and understandably if he pooped in the water, i would get him out asap. So he has learnt that if he poops in the water, he gets out. He now poops as soon as his tail touches the water.

Another example - my beardie is on a liquid diet because he is ill and he doesn't like being fussed with. He has learnt that if he drinks his dinner, i go away. So sometimes if he is feeling unsociable, he will l**k the air even when it isn't feeding times to tell me to go away.

I guess you could teach it more complicated tricks to get what it wants, but you need it to do those things first. You can't teach him that he gets food for fetching a stick unless he fetches the stick in the first place.

  4. I've never tried to train one. But all animals are intelligent, so I imagine that a hand-reared bearded dragon could be quite responsive.

  5. probably but its not really worth it they always sit and besides its not a dog its a dragon

  6. they have a video on that on youtube pretty cool

  7. i get mine to stand on its hine legs for food lol...pretty cool lookin haha

  8. you can train most beardies to do anything just remember its a pet not a circus animal!!

  9. ive go a bearded dragon an a geco, lizards live in a certain way, there is no chance you could train them. you can love them an they can recognise you an understand your tone of voice but they arent like dogs they carnt be trained sorry tried my self didnt work xx

  10. I've never heard of any reptile being taught obedience commands. Certainly they can be conditioned to certain behaviors (if you say their name just before feeding them they may come thinking they get a treat), but reptiles just aren't intelligent enough to perform a wide variety of commands. Reptiles are instinctive creatures who react to situations, not think them through.
