Can beat any team says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691 – Cricket News Update
Sri Lankan skipper, Tillakaratne Dilshan is confident that his side can upstage an unlikely win against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 by claiming that they can beat any team in any given condition.
Hampered by injuries, the tourists will lock horns with the Proteas in the first Test at Centurion, and while the odds are stacked against them, their leader is confident in his under firing team.
It was relevant in their practice session where they took considerable time in perfecting their fielding, hoping to define one area of immense importance. The problem however, remains bigger for the tourists due to a lack of winning momentum in the past
12 months.
They have failed to win a Test series in their last three series, and their previous five-day win has also eluded them since July last year. Their last bout was against the Men In Green at UAE where the team fell to a 1-0 defeat, however, they improved on
their batting as the series progressed.
"We made a few mistakes in the last series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 but we have discussed what went wrong. Everyone is looking forward to this series," Dilshan said. "After losing the second Test against Pakistan, we came back very strongly in the last match and
played good cricket."
The biggest question mark now remains on their ability to adapt to green pitches, where the ball will bounce and seam. Proteas pacer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DW-Steyn-c1409 was adamant that his team will make full use of the bouncy tracks and hit the ball higher on the bat.
With almost all Lankan players making their first bout on South African conditions, their task of ending their winless streak remains tough as ever, especially  with an injury cloud hanging over veteran, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KC-Sangakkara-c1779. However, the skipper is not too
worried about their recent slump and feels that they can topple any opposition on any given condition.
"There is self-belief that everyone can do their job for the team. Everyone says South Africa is the favourite but if we can play our brand of cricket we can beat any team in any conditions," added Dilshan.
