  1. i hope not because i am in a pool 6 days a week for three hours so i really hope not.

  2. No, Being in a pool is not bad for your health, its actually really good.. you do have to swim of course, I do know its good cardiovascular exercise..(your heart) and also helps your body movements. for Chlorine, I gathered the one source that answers all your questions and its simple to understand and gives you good detail.. here ya go

I know it will help. lets just say that its good and bad.

  3. i ask myself the same question everyday. I'm a competitive swimmer and most pools now use ozone rather than chlorine but not at the pool i swim at. I've been swimming for almost 10 years now and breathing it in isn't bad if your only going to be there a few hours. the only time it can be bad was when we have meets at our pool then there are too many people i the pool and the ventilation system at our pool doesn't work properly. the chlorine however goes into your pores. so i smell like chlorine, but only when i sweat like in PE at school.  but if your only going once in a while it's not going to have an effect cause the chlorine will not stay in your pores.

my advice is not to go in the hot tubs cause it makes you smell more and not good for you.

    hope i helped!

  4. Chlorine in 1-3ppm with 5 max, normal pool concentrations, does not smell.  What you are likely smelling is combined chlorine and in concentrations as little 0.2ppm smells a lot and is commonly associated with the chlorine smell.  In addition to the smell your mucus membranes in your eyes, nose and throat can be burned and otherwise irritated.

This is a common situation in any pool and can be taken care of with proper maintenance like super chlorinating the pool when chloramine levels get to 0.2ppm.

Wear goggles, and rinse off thoroughly after your swim.

    You're welcome!!

  5. No. I am in the pool five days a week. As of this writing, I am still alive.

    Don't worry about it.

  6. researchers found that after an hour of swimming in a chlorinated pool, chloroform concentrations in the swimmers’ blood was pretty high.....Taking a warm shower or lounging in a tub filled with hot chlorinated water, one inhales chloroform. Researchers recorded increases in chloroform high concentration in bathers’ lungs after a 10-minute shower. Worse, warm water causes the skin to act like a sponge; and so one will absorb and inhale more chlorine in a ten-minute shower than by drinking eight glasses of the same water. This irritates the eyes, the sinuses, throat, skin and lungs, dries the hair and scalp, worsening dandruff. It can also weaken immunity.
