Question:

Can being overweight cause headaches when running?

I don't have high blood pressure and I drink plenty of water, but I am a little over weight. I also notice when I run my head is pointing down.

Could either my weight of bad posture cause a headache from running?

  1. It's probably a combination of both. Do you know what a reverse bridge is? It's a gymnastic stretch and if done a couple times a day can help your overall posture and it's relaxing.

So you're a little out of shape. No big deal. As time goes by you'll get used to it and if you take some ibuprophine the pain will subside.

    And keep drinking the water!

  2. very much so. I know since I'm overweight and when I'm running these killer headaches starts. For me, I control it by just breathing slowly in and out, focusing on something other than the pain. it sort of helps.

try to lift your head up, it might help a little, but i doubt it.

  3. overweight can be the cause so what i suggest is first of all try and reduce that ....

so rather than running first start with brisk walking than start jogging and than running....

    i hope it does help...

  4. yes it can cause headaches

when i was overweight i would run and get cramps from being out of shape but also headaches and i asked my doctor if i had a head cold or something and he said no its because your body is running more than its used to and your burning carbs i don't think its the way your head is but idk if u had the same problems as me the position could be a reason i would ask a doctor but it might be what happened to me

  5. Eh when i do push up's sometimes my head starts bangin. i think its cause youre muscle's arent loosened up enough or you havent done an exercise for awhile
