  1. Last Year on a Ride I saw a Man who was at least 400 Pounds get on a GSXR1000. Yes, He looked like a Monkey  getting Romantic with a Football.

  2. Yes of course they can I have a friend around 6'2 close to 300lbs and he rides his near everyday.

  3. yes  you can...

  4. Sure, I've seen many guys your size riding sportbikes, but they were on at least a 600cc up to a "big boy" bike like a Hayabusa or Ninja ZX14.

If you haven't rode before, I urge you to take lessons first at a MSF class before deciding on anything.

  5. Sure you can, but why a crotch rocket?  Just make sure you can breath okay on those.  Personally I like to sit up a bit while riding...

  6. Ride what you like.

  7. Obviously they will have plenty of power, so I think the only question is will you be comfortable on it. Just sit on a few and if anyone has a demo you can ride that would be helpful. Most KTM dealers have a Super Duke demo which would have a similar seating position to many Japanese sport bikes so maybe give that a try first.

  8. Buy one! just buy one big enough so you will be comfortable! Like a Hayabusa!

  9. Are you big OR fat if your fat then get an exercise bike.

  10. sure, i've seen a bunch of big guys on sport bikes, not a problem

  11. I doubt it cos if you weigh that much, i can visualise how massive you are. There's no seating space. Why go for a crotch rocket when you are so massive? You'll look like a grizzly on a prairiedog's back!Go for something your size like a rig or something - forget bikes till you scale down

  12. Anyone can ride crotch rockets.

  13. go to a dealership and sit on a few bikes first. just dont listen to the idiot who said to start on a hayabusa

  14. I've seen it several times myself. There is no reason why you can not. I am a big person too and thought initially I had to be on a cruiser. After a few years, I finally came to the realization that the one I had just was not the bike for me - no matter how much I kept changing it to try and make it more comfortable, etc.

I eventually got a Sport Tourer (Honda ST1100), and it is everything I always wanted in a bike.

Get what makes YOU happy and don't worry about anyone else. As long as it has two wheels and a motor, it is all good.

  15. are you tall at 280 or short  im 240 and ride my sons cbr 1000 but it makes my ands go numb after a while.i will stay in my goldwing but you buy what you want.go to a dealer and sit on a few different models, forget about the football comments

  16. Yes, I know several who ride and ride them just as well if not better than most of the smaller guys. The bikes that they have are the GSX - R 600, that guys is at least 285, ZX6R and he is around 275, and ZX10 at about 270. I am sure if they put on even 20 more lbs they would still be able to ride them. Sit on them first and see what is comfortable. Your biggest problem besides seat comfort may be the amount of weight that is going to be on your hands. You are suppose to support most of your weight with your stomach and back muscles, but when you are cruising along, you will probably relax and support yourself with your arms. You hands will get sore pretty fast so you may have to use bar risers to get a better angle or you can consider a more upright bike like the Ninja 650 or similar. Still has the crotch rocket look but a more comfortable riding position. Or you can choose something like the sport tourer that someone else mentioned earlier. There are several of those out there too.

Whatever you get, make sure you have the proper riding gear. There are several manufacturers out there who make stuff for bigger guys so that shouldn't be a problem unless you are a very short 280. Even then you might be able to find something special order.
