Would colour ink show up on dark skin? I'm just wondering and I don't know any black person I could ask. Include a link to pic if you can.

  1. Of course they can. They just don't show up very well. A tattoo is placed under the skin so what you see has a layer of skin over it. If you're very pale (like me) the colour shows through very well. If, however, your skin tone is dark it will tint the colours of the tattoo - rather like looking at a picture when wearing sunglasses.

Note to ∫∞M®S.W,ß∞∫ - if you're going to call somebody ignorant, perhaps you should first learn basic spelling and grammar (it's "you're" as in "you are" not "your" as in "belonging to you"). Thicko.

    EDIT:

Sorry, I seem to have said almost exactly what "speedup_burnout "above me has said! Anyway, it was worth it just to have a go at ∫∞M®S.W,ß∞∫

  2. Tattoos are ugly on white people, and on black they look even worse.  You can barely see the design and it looks like a splotch or stain. These are red and green ones.

  3. Listen to "♥". She pretty much covered it, other people didn't fully answer the question.

    Hope this helped=)

  4. Yes most of black people are seen with tatoos cmon. but there is no pic but look at booker ti the wresytler

  5. OMG!!! YOUR IGNORANT!!!

  6. Yes they can, and it will show up. It won't stand out as much as pale skin, but that's only because there is contrast against the paleness of the skin and the color of the tattoo.

  7. the only colours i can think of is an illuminous green and maybe a black

  8. Yes, but you want to make sure you find an artist who has experience working with dark skin. When done well, the colours will be strong and look great!

  9. Yes it sure does! Purple looks lovely on dark skin. :]

  10. It depends on the shade of their skin

If they're really dark -- They can get a tattoo but it won't show as much so they most likely will only get a black outlining rather than adding color ex: 50 cent http://a.abcnews.com/images/Entertainmen...

  11. Tattoos are not placed on the skin's surface; they are placed many layers under the skin. When a tattoo heals, the top layers of skin exfoliate, grow back, and the underlying layer remains. Thus... when you see a tattoo on someone you are not looking at the art on the surface of their skin, you are actually looking through the top layers that are covering the tattoo underneath.

White skin is rather transparent, when skin grows back over a healed tattoo it is like looking through a clear window of skin over the tattoo. On the other hand, when dark skin heals and those layers grow back over a tattoo, you now have a dark sheet of skin to look through on top of the tattoo.

The exact same ink will be present under the skin, but the darker skinned person is at a disadvantage when attempting to see color through the body's dark pigment.

    A simple analogy...

View a painting wearing clear gasses = tattoo on white skin

View the same painting wearing sunglasses = tattoo on dark skin.”
