Because I swear it happened to me. I am a male.I had a female brain aka g*y brain, and I was oriented towards guys. No doubt.

But after some events, which involved realising i have feelings for a girl, recently my brain changed into the male brain and I find myself oriented towards girls now. I litterally felt it change. I NATURALLY want to look at girls now. When earlier on I was somewhat acting.

Do you think brain structure changing during growth is possible? Btw my brain changed when I was 18. I am still 18 now.

Or was it more to do with experiences in life, realising what one wants in life etc which makes you naturally become different? in sexual orientation, i.e.

  1. life is a sea of different experiences.... we laugh .. we cry... we learn from our mistakes and all this happens within a domain called society. Some of us change according to the rules and beliefs of our society but some of us just flow with the tide. You may have changed because of what you see all around you. Its not that easy to be so different and expect to live a normal life. We all at one point in our life fall for the same s*x... and we may or may not grow out of it. I believe the same has happened with you. You have grown out of it. But just remember one thing in life. Be what you are and be proud of it. Learn to love  yourself.

  2. Science really hasn't come quite far enough to be able to say where homosexual tendencies come from.  However, I am pretty sure it would have more to do with early development in the brain, hormones, or neurotransmitters, rather than any specific brain structure.

Furthermore, the brain structure doesn't change much in size, shape, or arrangement from around 15 or 16 on, with the exception of changes due to brain trauma or neuroplasticity (which also doesn't cause much noticeable change).  Also, there is no "male brain" and "female brain" in either a physical, social, or emotional sense.  A brain is a brain; gender has little effect.

So I'm not sure what you literally "felt" moving around in your head, but I can assure you that it wasn't your brain.  I also can promise that any changes in your brain matter should not change your sexual orientation.  Perhaps the changes in orientation is a natural part of your adolescent development.

  3. A person's sexual orientation depends on the amount of oestrogen or testosterone in the blood during pregnancy according to recent scientific research.

  4. I'm not an expert in brain structure or brain chemistry or genetic predisposition.  I don't necessarily hold that a person is born a certain way.  There is nature and there is nurture.  What instincts and genetic instructions instill and what we learn and assimilate from our cultural environment.

However, to answer your question....  Change is the only constant to being alive.

As for who we are attracted to....  I'm a firm believer we become attracted to ppl who possess some aspect that we feel is missing in ourselves.  We seek a wholeness to our being and look to ppl who possess what we think we lack.

In your case, perhaps in this first girl you just finally recognized some aspect you feel is missing.  And by association, you can also find attraction for women with similar traits.

Ultimately, what difference does it make?  The question is, are you happy?
