Can broccoli and cauliflower be used in casseroles?

and also how do i make my casserole more 'thick' and 'lumpy'?

i used cornflour but it didnt help that much

    Cornstarch should have helped.  You can try flour mixed with a little water to make a paste, then blend it well into your liquid ingredients.
