  1. Go to their website and find out. If you see it for sale, they do. If you dont, they dont.

  2. On BT, probably not.  The most you're likely to get is 8mb.  It's always worth checking. It all depends on what type of line you have i.e copper or TPON, and how far you are away from your exchange. Best bet is to do an availability checker. There are a small number of companies you may be able to get 24mb with on a basic BT line. This is through LLU (Local loop unbundling) which means you can get a better service on  a bog-standard BT line. Yet again, you need to do an availability check from your pc.  Go to the website below, full of useful stuff that'll help.  The other other option is go to Virgin Media but it'll cost you to install a brand new line with them.

  3. This is not a question that can be answered easily; check with the provider for the maximum speed at your location.

  4. Call or go to their website and check...

I don't know if DSL can or not, some cable companies do and fiber-to-the-home (like Verizon FiOS) goes well beyond that (usually 50+Mbps)

I'm not aware of any FTTH/FTTP providers yet except Verizon FiOS - correct me if I'm wrong but most other "fiber" networks (like Cox or Comcast) don't actually run fiber-optics into your house like Verizon does. (see also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiber_to_th... )

  5. no not yet as it comes down your phone line the only way to get 20mb is via virgin media fibre optic cable

  6. No, BT total broadband does not currently support these speeds.

Contrary to what others have said, cable is NOT the only way to get higher speeds. Some BT land lines can support higher speeds with other ISPs services. You will need to find out if if your telephone exchange has any LLU service operators present (this is where the ISP puts their own equipment in the exchange)

To find out what is available to you, have a look at this-

    Good luck :)
