I'm doing my A level product design course work and was wondering if bubble wrap can have a printed logo or something similar on it.

If so what printing process does it use?

  1. I think the way they do it would be to have the logo printed on the plastic sheeting before it is made into bubble wrap but the costs for this?  It seems to make no sense to me unless the bubble wrap itself is a product of same logo cuz if it's just additional promotion works for a company on inside packaging sounds nuts to me.  Even if it is the same my god the money just for that?  Haha I forget why I didn't feel bad when I resigned from advertising.  Sorry I guess I am not much help here am I but you sure got me thinking.

    Good luck to you.

  2. A DTM (direct-to-media) large format ink-jet printer would be able to print directly onto bubble wrap, the nature of bubble wrap would make it difficult to print too small a logotype, if printing on the bubble side the logo would distort and the coverage wouldn't be fantastic, however on the reverse it should be possible to get a reasonable quality.
