  1. They can, but mainly in the longer haired breeds such as an Angora, lionhead, fuzzy lop, or Jersey Wooly. These breed are more suceptible because they have wool and not fur. Short haired breeds don't usually get them. But when a rabbit does have a hair ball they are unable to regurgitate. That is one of the things that kills a rabbit, the fact that they can not regurgitate food or other items that clog their digestive system. If you think that you rabbit does have a hairball. This IS one of the rare times you need to bring a rabbit to the vet for the reasons above. They will be able to remove anything that is caught in the throat or digestive system. It will only take about 4-5 days for a rabbit to die of a clogged digestive system.

  2. YES they can, sometimes they can cause a serious blockage, a good sign is if currant get progressivly smaller, liquid parrafin helped mine (prescribed by the vet)

  3. yes but they cant cough them up and some times they block a bunnies digestive system. brush it out good everyday and give it a lot of timothy hay, which pushes out and cleans away the hair in his system
