Can cannibis, or hemp, be used for biofuel??

corn is already part of the food supply chain, so using it for fuel leads to higher food prices? If hemp can be grown for biofuel, I assume that that would be a better thing to grow, right? I mean aside from the obvious fact that everyone who even sees anything that even looks like marijuana turns into a bloodthirsty communist baby killer. yeah, aside from that....

  4. I can see where you are going with your initial idea. After all, cannabis is a weed, so could be easily and quickly grown, so would be readily available. It would be great if we could find a way to break it down and utilize it as biofuel.

  5. Some are considering "switchgrass" (native american prarie) for those reasons.  If the crop needs corn-quality land, and corn-quality inputs (fertilizer) it makes little difference whether it is actually corn being grown.
