Can car insurance companies find out if you ever had a lawsuit before? If so can they also find past medical?

Can they find out if I was injured in an accident 6 years ago?

  1. Yes all insurance companies report into a national data base.  Even workmans's comp.  So yes,  they will find out about it.  I guarantee it!!


  2. most wont check back but a few years and they cant look at medical anything

  3. All lawsuits are public record and most are now on line.  Anyone can find out if you have sued or been sued.

  4. Yes. All insurance companies enter their claims into a national database.  They can search for you in the database and find your previous claims.

    They also have special investigation units to investigate possible fraudulent claims. So if you plan on pulling one over on the insurance company, you won't get far.

  5. Yes, they can, all injury claims are reported by the insurance companies to a thing called the Index Bureau. They will know all about the previous injury.

  6. Yes, just because we ask if you've had any tickets or accidents in the past 3 or 5 years doesn't mean that we can't see any previous claims. Any claim that is filed against you, or that you have filed your self is entered into a database. We can see most of the information regardless of the date it occured.
