I'm 8 months preggy and my little guy has gastroschisis (intestines are exposed in the womb). Can this make me sick while carrying until I deliver? And, what are we to expect once we deliver, short-term and long-term? Also, we are 3cm dialated, he's severly breeched, 3lbs, 10oz, dropping and resting on my bladder. Good strong heartbeat and very active. Waiting to see when to schedule a c-section.... Thanks

  1. Hello. No it won't make you sick. When he is born he will be taken to special care to be assessed and a cover put over his intestines to protect them. When he is strong enough an attempt will be made to insert his intestines back into his body.If you Google search you should find info. on this condition.

  2. Here are some links I found about parents who have gone through this..

  3. Isn't this a question for your dr??

I saw on 'maternity ward' that when a baby is born with his intestines exposed they do a surgery immediately after birth to put them in & they are fine in the long run but that's all i know =]

    God Bless

    Wish you all the best
