my throat is very tight its hard to breathe.....nuthin serious

I've got a similiar issue to this one, that only occures when I'm around cats.

First I get the traditional sneezing and wattery eyes, but then it's followed by a feeling that my throat seems to get swollen. It feels a lot thicker to breathe and, if you try to breathe quickly you'll make a whizzing sound. I have found absolutely no solution to this, except for once. I don't know wether the conditions was "just right" or if it ACTUALLY worked that one time. I drank a small cup of mucus disolving cough medicine and didn't feel the sympthomes AT ALL for a full day, I even had the cat in my lap and stroke itself against my chin and yet I didn't feel a thing.

That was only 1 day however, it doesn't seem to work for me anymore.
