  1. I believe so. :)

  2. Absolutely!  There is an increased flow of blood to the uterus at this time so it's a bit more work for the vet, but it's really a non-issue.  If you think about it - she's going to keep coming in and out of heat until she is spayed (or fall/winter) so it's darn near impossible to schedule a spay appointment when she is both NOT in heat, and your vet has an opening.  Just take her in, have it done, and then no one has to worry about it any more.

I've had cats spayed while in heat many many times - I've never had a problem or heard any of the vets we use complain!

  3. its really up to your vet if they are willing to it while they are in heat. it can be done most may charge extra for doing it while they are in heat due to the inflamation and extra blood flow.  maybe you should call ahead and make sure. but it can be done

  4. It's better not to. I had the same issue and my vet suggested to postpone the surgery until she was off heat, because otherwise the surgery is more dangerous.

  5. usually not but the vet will decide as they will be able to tell better where she is at in her cycle

  6. A vet usually likes for them to go out of heat before sterilizing them, cause they become calmer, sometimes if done while in heat they tend to have heat like symptoms all time

  7. Let the vet decide.  Keep her in so she does not get pregnant until she is fixed though.
