My youngest cat has been l*****g the fur off of her belly for a over a year now. Skin biopsy tests show she's allergic to something, but I can't figure out what. I've replaced all of my cleaning products with scentfree versions, I've changed her litter type and her food, and she keeps l*****g.

Lately I've noticed that when she gets out of the cat tree cubby hole, her nose is dripping clear liquid, which is what happens to me when my allergies act up. The other cat uses that cubbyhole quite a lot, I'm wondering if perhaps she's allergic to my other cat?

  1. no

  2. Does your cat tree have catnip in it? One of my cats seems to be allergic to catnip. Everytime she goes in her cat tree, her ears get red and she itches. I don't think she could be allergic to your other cat but anything is possible. When they have allergies, it is very hard sometimes to know what the causes are. My cat is allergic to catnip, lysine and the scent of cut grass! Good luck in finding the cause of your cat. I found out my cat's allergies on my own as multiple vets told me it was her food, wasn't that at all!

Edit to blakeney a: Thank you for stopping to tell people you are a vet!

  3. maybe. does she shed? if she doesnt maybe one of your other cats does and the hair is irritating her and she is allergic to it or something. you should groom her, maybe she has fleas or something. groom her regulary. i would take her to the vet and do a test to specify more what it is.

  4. she could be allergic to your other cat. i have a cousin that had really bad allergies and the doctor told her she was allergic to herself lol. maybe shes allergic to the carpet on the cat tree? or maybe your carpet.
