Like the other posters, I am not aware of anything specific to potatoes that is harmful to a cat HOWEVER... as a complusory canrivore your cat cannot subsist on a diet of potatoes, but shouldn't have a problem given that (s)he continues to get a healthy portion of regular cat food. ALSO you should be careful when feeding any cat cooked meals. The cooking process destroys the chemical compound TAURINE which is essential to a cat's diet, any cat fed a regular diet of cooked chicken, fish as thier primary diet, etc will die from malnutrion and symptoms of a taurine deficiency certainly includes blindness among other things. All other mamals synthesise tarurine on their own but felines do not. Not a definitive source, but certainly a resource I invite you to read up on the chemical compound taurine in wikipedia.
