my cat gave birth 6 weeks ago, and now shes a bit less friendly than she used to be. The kittens are beautiful and healthy and in 2 weeks go to people I know only, and to good homes. Do you think my cat has post natal depression> can they get this?

  1. well if you had just given birth to several children you would be a tad pissed off If someone gave them away

  2. This is a good debate actually cats can get depressed like any animal hormones are adaptive, i would suggest, if your cat is still like thi, maybe a check to the vets is in order, hope your cat feels better soon....(i love cats)

  3. Oh for sure a lot of Cats go to their vets for it

Most of the cats in England are on repeat prescriptions for Prozac

  4. Maybe she is less friendly because she is feeling very protective of her young kittens at the moment. Once the kittens are older and independent she will return to her old friendly self. She is in her protective mothering mode at the moment.
