No it is a non harmful plant. even humans eat it or make it into tea!

No - I did some reasearch on this because my cats LOVE catnip and from everything I can find it is non-addictive and they cannot OD - They may however throw-up if they eat too much.

Usually 1/2 to 1 tablespoon is a good amount to give them at treat time.
