Can cats see/sense paranormal activity?

.....is there any evidence to this? i really think they can.

We have 3 cats. One night we were watching TV all three of our cats were asleep on the floor in front of us. Then all of a sudden at the same time they raised their heads up and looked towards the front door. We didn't hear anything. I was scared all night long after that.

i know that dogs can but i am not sure about cats!

Many people believe they can. I do think animals can sense things we cannot and possibly be able to sense or see ghosts, but there is no real proof to this and it lies within ones own belief.

What is your evidence that cats can sense the paranormal?

If you can't "sense" it, then how do you know the cat is sensing it?  In other words, how do you know your cat isn't just freaking out or else reacting to some other stimulus you haven't considered?

Maybe if cats were real they could. However, cats are not, never have been and never will be real. There are millions of people that say they have seen and even own a cat but human testimony is worthless. Sure some people have showed me a cat but they always prompted my hallucination by saying "see here is a cat" and for a short time any of us can lose our grip on reality and see a "cat".

yes, so can dogs... have you ever seen a dog bark at a random place in your house and nothing is there? Its because they see spirits...they think they're intruders.

Yes, cats and dogs are far more sensitive to these things than we. Groups have taken animals on invetigations to experiment with this.

Its a theory, but I've yet to see any real backing.  It goes back to the thought that cats are associated as familiar spirits and linger in between this world and the next.

My cat stares at all kinds of stuff.  My house isn't haunted.  I think they just like to see if we'll look at it too.  lol.

I have two cats and neither of them (not even the black witchy looking one) have ever experienced any paranormal activity.

I rented an old house and my cats would always watch the upper landing like someone was there looking down watching us.

One of my cockatiels got out of his cage and flew away in the middle of winter.

Later on that night both of my cats were watching the ceiling, moving their heads back and forth like they were watching a tennis ball darting around the room.

I kind of thought maybe that was a sign that the bird had died, and that he "flew" home to safety.

Yes! they can if they are chasing something not there or refuse to live in a house that is haunted they are also psychic you can reserch thing they do to see if they are trying to tell you something

Of course not.They can smell or hear a mouse or bug somewhere you can't see.Causing them to give the appearance of reacting to invisible creatures.Some silly folks will jump to the wrong conclusion.It's very insulting to the cat.
