Can center air malfunction by electric power off?

ok we was setting up temp at 74 degree then after power off it set to 85 is that possible or someone is just changing those setting?

  1. You are probably looking at the temperature reading and not the temperature setting. Of course after a power failure the temperature in a place is going to rise so long as it is hot outside. The unit should start up again when once power is restored and the 85o marker should begin to slowly drop until it reaches 74 or the temperature at which you have SET!


  2. If I understand your question correctly, I think someone changed the setting.  The settings could not change by electric outage.  If you are talking of the actual temperature, if there was a power outage, the temperature would rise.
