  1. Unless something is using power on that circuit it will make no difference.

  2. Well of course just understand that when their off your going to lose power to that part of the house. But to answer your question yes by stopping that power at the breaker you are saving electricity. The total length of wire in your home affects the power need to reach the furthest circuit and return excess. SO when you turn off a breaker you shorten that length thus saving power.

Here's a good example. The cable company runs power through the cable to carry the signal. They measure the energy used per household and monitor that power level. If someone taps into the signal by splitting the cable it now requires the cable company to pour more power into the line to maintain the signal. Same with electricity. Even if the power is just sitting in the line there is still a burn off and extra energy is requires to fill that line. If the line sits there dead (breaker off) you save power. This amount may be nominal but its a savings none the less.

  3. Turning off a circuit breaker is the same as turning off all the switches on that circuit. Makes no difference.

  4. if you have an elect water heater, turn it off at night , turn it on 1 hr before you need hot water, a hot water heater is the largest draw in a a house, then freezers, then window a/c ,s
