Can chasteberry/vitex help you ovulate?

Question

I've heard great things about this herb and the fact that it helps regulate menstrual cycles. Does it actually help make you ovulate? I haven't had a period in several months - the Dr. says that I don't produce enough of the hormone to make me ovulate, therefore I don't get my period. I'm interested in trying an herbal remedy, but I'm a little anxious about it. I've heard it regulates LH levels but, doesn't the LH hormone occur AFTER ovulation has taken place? I need something to actually help me ovulate....

I heard it does I just bought it this weekend and I started it yesterday fingers crossed
